How do I photograph my cat? PART 1

So…. you want some tips on how to photograph your cat?  Ican see that you are asking this question proably because, in general, photographing a cat is NOT an easy task!  Well, here’s a few to start.  More tips will be added in later blogs!

1. Shoot in your cat’s native environment!  DON’T bring your cat into a photography studio (or into any unfamiliar turf!)!  Ever heard the term about how hard it is “herding cats”?  Unfamiliar territory will just make your cat nervous and upset!  If you have ever tried to bring an independent cat into a studio you know what I mean!  Instead, go where your cat is comfortable – in his or her own home or yard!  When you cat is happy, your photos will bring out his or her true personality!

2. Try some catnip to calm her down or a string toy to pep him up!  Action shots  – swatting a string or tossing a mouse can make for very fun-loving photos of your feline!

3.  Angles, angles, angles!  Try different angles for your shots!  Get at “cat level” – down on the floor!  You’d be surprised how cool these photos can be!  Check out my fluffer cat photos or my Home page www.fluffermutter.com to see what I mean!  Look way up at them on a fridge!  Look way down on them from a ladder!  Exaggerated angles make cool photos!  Check out these 2 photos below!

That’s all for now!  I’ll give more cat photo tips in future blogs!
